Board of Directors : Article 3 of the Act to establish the Canadian Corporation for the 1967 World Exhibition (11 Eliz. II, c.12) called for the Corporation to be governed by a Board of Directors. Initially, in 1962, the Board consisted of fourteen directors, two of whom were the Commissioner General, who was also the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, and the Deputy Commissioner General, who was the Vice-President of the Corporation. In 1963 the incorporation act was amended (12 Eliz II, c.32) and the number of directors was increased to sixteen. The powers, duties, and functions reserved for the Board of Directors consisted of submitting a plan of the corporate organization; submitting an operating budget and a capital budget for each financial year; approving statements of accounts; submitting an annual report of the affairs of the Corporation; approving the overall plan for the exhibition; and appointing the General Manager and the Directors of the various operational departments.
