In 1966 the Department of Trade and Commerce reorganized its central registry system in order to deal with the ever increasing number of files created. The principle of file organization was the same as in the first block registry system. However, rather that allotting one number, a block of numbers was assigned to each branch. As an example, numbers 950 to 979 were reserved for central registry files created by the Trade Fairs and Missions Branch. The file key to this system is as follows: General (100-199); Administration (200-299); Economics (300-349); Tourist Trade (350-399); Commodities & Industries Services (400-799: General 400-499; Agriculture 450-499; Fisheries 500-599; Industrial Materials 550-599, 600-649; Manufacturing Industries & Engineering 650-699; Unallotted 700-749; Transportation & Trade Services 750-799); Trade Policy (800-899: General 800-809; Trade Relations 810-819; Commodity Trade Policy 830-874; International Organization 875-899); Trade Promotion (900-999: General 900-909; Trade Commissioner Service 910-919, 920-929; Trade Publicity 930-939, 940-949; Trade Fairs 950-959, 960-969; Trade Missions 970-979; Financing Aid 980-989).
