46.7 m of textual records.Langue du document :anglaisPortée et contenu :Sub-sub series consists of Canada Land Survey Records for Alberta. Cadastral surveys conducted on Canada Lands and private lands in the North generated legal survey documents such as plans, field notes, diaries, and correspondence that were officially deposited and registered under unique survey numbers. Canada Lands include, but are not limited to Territorial Lands, Offshore Lands, National Parks, and federal Indian Reserves as defined under s. 24 of the Canada Lands Surveys Act. Canada Lands are often identifiable by a five digit number that is linked to all related survey records. Please see lower level descriptions attached to this record.Information additionnelle :Historique de la conservation :Canada Lands Survey Records (CLSR) were transferred to Library and Archives Canada in 2016-2017. Digital versions of many of the plans and field books can be located in Natural Resources Canada's Canada Land Survey System (CLSS) website.Note sur le classement :Researchers may access the records by searching for a specific survey or by using keywords to identify the official numbers (survey number and/or Canada Lands Number), surveyor names, dates, map title, or geographical location.
Cartographic records also contain alphanumeric identification information. The letters provide a general indication of the purpose or type of survey and geographic location. For example: "RR" is for railway/railroad, "T" for tracing, "S" for sketch, "FB" for field book, "BC" for British Columbia, "RD" for road, or "IRR" for irrigation. Early plans with multiple sheets or copies use a prefix (ex. A, B, C) to differentiate sheets or copies.
Textual files are similarly numbered. Records can be located using keywords or the five digit Canada Lands Number.Versements complémentaires :No further accruals are expected.Source :GouvernementAncien no de référence archivistique :RG88 -
