In 1804, she married Alexander Auldjo, in Fordyce near Portsoy and then immigrated to Canada. This miniature was painted at Bath where the artist lived, before she left for Canada. This portrait is attributed to Sampson Towgood Roch(e), an Irish-born miniaturist who is thought to have painted the portrait at Bath, England.
