Volumes 761-763 contain records from registry block 485 containing correspondence, memoranda, minutes of meetings, etc., most of which relate to organizations with which Miss Dorothy M. Percy dealt in her capacity as Chief Nursing Consultant for the Department of National Health and Welfare. The files deal with the following subjects: Canadian Nurses' Association; Canadian Red Cross Society - National Committee; St. John Ambulance Association; Victorian Order of Nurses; World Health Organization; Federal-Provincial Public Health Nursing Conference; Canadian Public Health Association; and the Canadian Nurses' Foundation. Volumes 3612-3614 contain records from registry block 6033 containing meeting minutes and background documentation for each meeting from the second meeting (1962) until 1992.Nom(s) additionnel(s) :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Canada. Office of the Chief Nursing Consultant : Since the early 1950s, the Department of National Health and Welfare has maintained a consultant on nursing issues known as the Principal Nursing Officer (PNO). One of the chief duties of the PNO is to chair the meetings of the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Nursing Consultants Group.
