Canadian Army. Canadian Mounted Rifle Brigade, 2nd : The 2nd Brigade, Canadian Mounted Rifles (CMR) was organized in May 1915 under the command of Colonel C.A. Smart. Its authorization was published in General Order 36 of 15 March 1915. The brigade was mobilized at Montreal and was composed of Headquarters and 4th, 5th, and 6th Regiments, CMR. The brigade left Quebec on 18 July 1915 aboard the HESPERIAN, disembarking in England on 27 July 1915. It arrived in France on 22 September 1915.
