The interviews address issues such as climate change, the environment, ecology, Indigenous perspectives, water, pollution, fisheries, wild animals, sustainable development, sustainable harvesting, finance, investing, business, social justice, governments, fiction and literature, art and music.
Interviewees included environmentalists, scientists, Indigenous elders, activists, researchers, ecologists, business people, professors, writers, musicians, lawyers and journalists. Notable interviewees include Margaret Atwood, Robert Bateman, Sarika Callis-Suzuki, Jane Goodall, Steven Guilbeault, James Lovelock, Albert Marshall, Elizabeth May, Edmund Metatawabin, George Monbiot, Farley Mowat, David Pauly, David Suzuki and Paul Watson.
The series includes 6 documentaries created as part of The Green Interview: "Bhutan: The pursuit of Gross National Happiness" (2011), "Defenders of the dawn: green rights in the Maritimes" (2016), "Green rights: the human right to a healthy world" (2016), "Salmon wars: salmon farms, wild fish and the future of communities" (2012), "Stars and pop cans: the green goals of a college" (2010), and a live concert recording of the composition "The Celtic mass for the sea" (2012).
Series also includes 2 presentations made by Silver Donald Cameron: "The most important idea" and "Business as (un)usual" (recorded between 2014 and 2020). Also included are raw footage of interviews regarding fish farms in Atlantic Canada and a meeting with singer-songwriter Tom Gallant.
