The Unit's role and function consisted mainly of coordinating the technical, material and practical aspects of the activities of the Prime Minister of Canada and his entourage.
This series chiefly concerns the Prime Minister's travels in Canada and abroad, as well as visits to Canada by foreign dignitaries. It also contains subject files on the material and technical management of the Prime Minister's activities.
Lastly, it contains correspondence, briefing books, mission logs, timetables and itineraries.
The series is divided into three (3) sub-series: Tours, Visits and Events; Foreign Visits in Canada; and Subject Files.Additional information:Conservation:The records of this series are in excellent general condition, and robust measures were taken to preserve them: all metal pieces were removed, newspaper clippings were removed and replaced with photocopies, records in a fragile state of preservation were also photocopied, etc. Lastly, records were removed from their original folders and placed in acid-free folders.Language note:The records of this series are in French and English.Related material:This series must be consulted in conjunction with the Office of the Prime Minister - Tours series and the Executive Assistants to the Prime Minister series. The three series are complementary, containing records of the Prime Minister's travels in Canada and abroad as well as visits to Canada by foreign dignitaries.Source:Private -
