The series also contains correspondence sent to Mr. Wallot in a professional capacity, the majority of which was sent to him as National Archivist of Canada. The series documents the scope of Mr. Wallot's personal and professional ties to the scientific community, both national and international. This group of documents accurately reflects the evolution of Mr. Wallot's career, the diversity of activities in which he was involved, and notably his personal and special contacts. This documentary series highlights the scientific, professional and personal network created by the producer of the fonds over a period of almost 50 years.
It includes letters from René Durocher, Jacques Genest, Craig Brown, Serge Gagnon, Jean Hamelin and Marcel Trudel, as well as Gérard Bouchard, Terry Cook, Robert Comeau, Kenneth McNaught, Cameron Nish and Joseph Goy. More letters are from internationally recognized European colleagues, including Albert Soboul, François Lebrun, Emmanuel LeRoy Laduria, Fernand Braudel, Frédéric Mauro, Louis Trénard, Jacques Godechot, François Crouzet and Jean Favier. There are also letters from dignitaries such as Flora MacDonald and Lucien Bouchard, among others.
Documents acknowledging his appointment as National Archivist of Canada include ones from Louise Dechêne, Marc-Adélard Tremblay and Michel Brunet. Also included are letters from Mia Matthes (Mia and Klauss photographers) and Frédérick Back (animation filmmaker).Source:Private -
