Lock, painter, was active from 1843-60. Worked in England 1843-6. On emigration to America, visited Montreal about 1848, in Manchester, Vt. 1849. Montreal 1850-4, and Brockville, Ont. 1855-60, but made frequent trips both to Toronto and Montreal to execute commissions. Married Emily Chaffrey, Brockville; returned to England shortly after her death in 1859. Remarried in Eng.; lived at Bury St. Edmonds, Suffolk.
Painted landscapes of Niagara Falls, Thousand Islands, Chaudière Falls and of Brockville districts, and some portraits.
