4 postal covers.Langue du document :anglaisPortée et contenu :Fonds consists of correspondence, mainly to and from the secretary of the association; annual meetings; minutes, correspondence and financial records of the Executive Council; reports and letters from the branches; correspondence with other military associations; lists of membership and correspondence regarding membership fees; correspondence regarding certain publications and copies of the Newsletter; correspondence regarding competitions and trophies; and miscellaneous papers concerning War Memorials.
Photographic material depicts military engineering trophies including the Honorary Colonel Commandant Trophy, the Hertzberg Memorial Trophy and the Lindsay Memorial Trophy; annual meeting, 1950; and memorial rolls and church sanctums.
Philatelic material consists of cacheted commemorative postal covers issued to mark the (1902-1977) 75th anniversary of the 3rd Field Regiment Squadron (M) Canadian Military Engineers. Covers bear notation "Freedom of the City of Ottawa 25-9-77" and autographs of various Engineer Squadron personnel.Provenance :Nom(s) additionnel(s) :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Military Engineers Association of Canada : The Military Engineers Association of Canada was created in 1912 for the purpose of bringing Engineering Officers into closer contact and to assist in their development. Colonel H. Harrison and Major S.H. Osler were chosen respectively as President and Secretary of the Association.
Following the end of the First World War, efforts to revive the Association were not very successful and it was not until 1928 that branches were in operation in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, London, Calgary and Vancouver.
In 1946, active reorganization commenced with the first post-war annual meeting held in November.
