The NRC Oral History Collection consists of recorded oral history interviews featuring National Research Council (NRC) employees and presidents, as well as any accompanying rough transcripts or interview summaries that are available.
The interviews emphasize the NRC's early development. The vast majority of the oral history interviews in this collection were pursued as part of the NRC Oral History Project in the years 1972-1985. The interviewer is usually Donald J.C.Phillipson, although other interviewers include: Robert Bothwell, Norman T. Gridzeman, W.E.K. Middleton, Tim Sims, and F.R. Thurston. Series also consists of recordings of Mel Thistle and Wilfrid Eggleston's interviews of Chalmers J. Mackenzie in 1967, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's (CBC's) interviews of Chalmers J. Mackenzie and General A.G.L. McNaughton in 1966.
