Represented in the collection are student drawings, primary schools, high schools, the Hill Island development project, domestic architecture, public buildings, hotels and motels, senior citizens' housing, banks, waterfront development projects, medical buidlings, town planning, business buildings, churches and club and union buildings. There are also drawings of a summer cottage, museum, pharmaceutical laboratory, the architect's home and several floor plans for unidentified houses. There are drawings of a flour mill (1899-1901) in Bedford Hills, Ontario and a theatre in Brockville, Ontario, by Davison and Smith.Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Roberts, H. Horace (1910-1983) : H. Horace Roberts (1910-1983) graduated from the University of Toronto in 1933 with a B. Arch. and several awards, including the Darling-Pearson Scholarship and the Toronto Architectural Guild Silver Medal for design. In 1935 he joined the staff of Sir Thomas P. Bennett & Son, in London, England, which was considered the largest architectural office in the Empire. After the outbreak of war in 1939, Roberts returned to Canada to enlist and again returned to England, this time as Camouflage Officer of the Canadian Army Headquarters. After the war, he settled in Westport, Ontario, where he established a private architectural practice which lasted actively until 1973. Photographs of WWII German camouflage activities with interpretations by H.H. Roberts, who worked as a camouflage officer for the Canadian Army Headquarters in England were transferred to the Documentary Art and Photography Division. Photographs of numerous schools, senior citizen's complex in Cornwall and various structural details have also been transferred to the Documentary Art and Photograpy Diviison accession 1988-204 DAP -- Mikan 15182.
