Canadian Engineers. Field Company, 5th : The 5th Field Company, Canadian Engineers was organized in Montreal in September 1914 under General Order 36 of 15 March 1915. The company was commanded by Major George Janin.
The company embarked at Halifax on 18 April 1915 aboard NORTHLAND, disembarking in England on 29 April. It arrived in France on 16 September 1915, becoming part of the 2nd Canadian Divisional Engineers.
