Included is a record of navigation, checklists of work performed and correspondence, 1839-1854; general orders, lock dues collected and work performed, 1854-1875; lockmaster's journals, 1904-1939; and a daily record of water levels, 1922-1942.Biographie/Histoire administrative :Canada. Lockmaster (Poonamalie, Ont.) : The lockmaster at Poonamalie on the Rideau Canal was in direct charge of the lock station and reported to the Superintending Engineer of the Rideau Canal. The lockmaster enforced canal regulations, compiled statistics, supervised labourers, and prepared journals and reports.
