Series includes files of correspondence from the artists A.Y. Jackson 1953-1961, Joe Plaskett, 1954-2000, and Jack Shadbolt 1984-1994. The A.Y. Jackson letters discuss the Bobaks' painting; Molly Bobak's trip to Norway; fellow artists Kay Pepper, York Wilson, Jack Nichols, Will Ogilvie, Lilias Torrance Newton; the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour; his memoirs; paintings of Canadian cities; and other subjects. The correspondence from Joe Plaskett is extensive and discusses his painting, exhibitions, personal life, travels, mutual friends, and other subjects. Most of the letters are addressed to Molly Bobak and were written in Paris, but there are also letters sent from British Columbia, Montreal, and elsewhere. The Jack Shadbolt letters discuss his theories of art, his own painting and exhibitions, other artists, architecture, Molly Bobak's father, Harold Mortimer-Lamb, and other subjects.
