The files consist of requests, approvals or refusals from the Canadian Armenian Congress to sponsor immigrants. The Congress was financially responsible for the immigrants who were unable to support themselves, which determined who they could sponsor. Forms and sample letters from the Department of Citizenship and Immigration are generally their only representation on file, except in special cases. The Armenian correspondence is present in almost all cases.
