Views include: the port and grain elevators at Port Arthur/Fort William, Ont.;packing plants, brick and cement works, Edmonton, Alta.; hogs, and range horses at Medicine Hat, Alta.; sheep, farms, and a fair at Brandon, Man.; exhibition stadium, Winnipeg, Man.; views of grain fields, farms, farm houses and buildings, harvesting, binding, and threshing of grain at various places in Saskatchewan, including locations at or near Saskatoon, Davidson, Regina, Dundurn; cattle, and milking cows near Rosthern and Scott, Sask.; settlers and land seekers from the United States, moving mainly to the Tramping Lake District, Sask.; disking and harrowing with steam tractor., This accession was previously titled the John Woodruff collection., The photos in this album were evidently organize somewhat after being taken, as the numerical sequences do not appear to follow any definite order., According to a memo dated October 1921, found in accn. no. 1966-84, the negatives for these phtoographs were at that time transferred to the Natural Resources Intelligence Bureau. Some Woodruff images can be found in acc. no. 1936-271, but most of the negatives apparently were destroyed., The date ascribed is based on the approximate dates of automobiles seen in several photos, particularly no. 997.
