Textual records (Électronique) Finding aid 12-460 is an unverified file list indicating box numbers, file numbers, titles, and outside dates. The title reflects the way that Transport Canada has historically organized and named its files. Titles begin at the Subject-level identifying the general subject, and then become more specific with each subsequent level in order to give a full description of the contents of a file. Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Atlantic Regional Office. Records are from the 5008 file block - Registration, Inspection and Operation files, and include only records for registered aircraft where the registration was cancelled. The case files are organized in alphabetical order by registration mark from FACG to IJML. Since registration numbers are recycled once an aircraft is deregistered, the /1 or /2 at the end of a mark indicates that the mark has been used before for a different aircraft with a different serial number.

Records in a file include the Certificate of Registration and documentation regarding the removal (cancellation) of the aircraft and its mark from the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register. Supporting documentation can include original manufacturer's specifications, certificates of airworthiness, bills of sale, inspection reports, inspection release certificates, and annual airworthiness information reports. 5008 files are closed where the aircraft is sold or transferred, removed from the register due to accident or other reason, or undergoes registration mark changes.

Accession also includes a file regarding the registration of hand gliders.
