Photographic records consist of negatives, b&w and colour prints, colour slides and transparencies depicting the organization (portraits of the organizers and staff), the planning (master plans, sketches, models, banners), all construction stages (construction of the islands, underground installations, construction of pavilions, facilities, bridges, canals, etc.), the multiple exhibits, works of art and activities of Expo, the ceremonies, events and shows, and the visits of foreign representatives including , but not limited to, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Grace and Prince Rainier of Monaco, Robert Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy, General Charles de Gaulle, Prince Albert and Princess Paola, Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon, and Lyndon B. Johnson (acc. 1970-019). Also included are photographs of the Canadian Pavilion at Expo '67 (acc. 1997-347) and aerial photographs of the site (acc. 1987-079).
Photography and Film Section : The Photography and Film Section was part of the Press Relations Division within the Information Branch of the Department of Public Relations. The section had three functions: supplying all photographic needs of the Corporation during all construction stages and during Expo; supplying the Press with news and feature photography; and assisting media photographers and cameramen assigned to cover Expo. For instance, photo catalogues and short promotional films were made up and distributed to the daily press and TV stations of the world, to the Canadian government travel bureau offices, and to the Canada's missions abroad. The Section's staff was composed of photo indexers, clerks, projectionists, photo assistants and messengers, and never had photographers on it. Up to June 1966, seven photo firms worked under contract. From June 1966 to November 1967, one contractor supplied all of the services and deployed up to twelve photographers and nine technicians.
