The accession consists of records arising from the building and lands, design and construction, real estate services, appraisal, accommodation planning and other functions of various offices within the Pacific Region.
The accession contains, but is not limited to, records relating to: proposed harbour development in Port Edward; the "Swiftsure Prince" accident at the New Westminster Railway Bridge; the Kirkland bifurcation wall in the Fraser River; the Gibson's Landing wharf; Kirkland Island aids to navigation; Sinclair Centre in Vancouver, B.C. (also known as Federal Complex, Block 15); the northwest B.C. highway system; the Esquimalt graving dock; and the Capilano Indian Band.
The accession also contains an outgoing letterbook, dated 1881 to 1887, containing copies of letters originating from the Chief Engineer's office in New Westminster, B.C.Historique de la conservation :The majority of these records were in the custody of the Pacific Region of PWGSC when the accessions to which they belonged were transferred from dormant storage to LAC custody. The original dormant accession numbers are: 86-41, 87-107, 83-434, 85-44, 92258, 98-0239, 92-388, 92-162, 91-050, 89-193, 89-231, 87-104.
