This accession consists of records created and maintained by Public Works and Government Services Canada and its predecessors.

The accession contains, but is not limited to, records relating to the construction, maintenance, inspection and safety of buildings (including post offices, RCMP detachments, border crossings, customs and immigration buildings, mail processing plants, tax data centres, federal department office buildings, and employment centres), roads and highways, harbours, wharves, breakwater, and bridges. Also found in this accession are architectural and engineering services records, Canadian Coast Guard and marine records. The accession also includes 9 boxes of, black and white, aerial photographs. The photographs are predominately of the Vancouver and the surrounding area.

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
