Comprises editorial cartoons by Thomas Boldt, published in various newspapers in the Alberta area including the Calgary Herald and Edmonton Sun. The work is primarily national in scope and covers the period in power of Jean Chrétien, his inner Cabinet and their most pressing problems. These include free trade, federal-provincial relations, Constitutional wrangling, the financial markets, health care, unemployment, commissions and enquiries, defence scandals, gun control, the lumber and tobacco industries and elections. On the provincial front, Boldt prods at the policy issues of Ralph Klein, Mike Harris, Gary Filmon, Lucien Bouchard, Jean Charest, Daniel Johnson, Gilles Duceppe and Brian Tobin. Internationally, the cartoonist examines tensions in the Middle East, human rights in China, space exploration and turmoil at international summits such as A.P.E.C.
