Fonds consists of photographs as follows: Governors General of Canada and their wives including Stanley of Preston, 16th Earl of Derby and Constance Derby, Lord Lansdowne and Maud Lansdowne, Lord Byng of Vimy, and William D. Ross and Isabel M. Ross, 1867-1928, photos by Livernois, L. Thompson, Ashley and Crippen; Montmorency Falls, Quebec, 1870, taken by L.P. Vallée; Fort Chambly (or Pontchartrain), Quebec, circa 1882; Quebec Swimming and Athletic Club, and Quebec City Basketball champions, 1926-1927, photos by Beaudry Fréres, Quebec City; Library of Parliament, Ottawa River and Parliament Buildings; Post Office and Custom House, showing Dufferin and Sappers Bridges; Nepean Point; Lumber District and Chaudiére Falls; Residence of Governor General, Ottawa, Ont., photos by William James Topley, taken circa 1890; glass slides showing primarily scenes of Northwest Territories; Fort Smith, Resolution, Aklavik, Hay River, Arctic Red River, Fort Simpson, Pond Inlet, and Fort Good Hope, North West Territories; Roman Catholic mission farms; Hudson Bay Company posts at Fort McPherson and Fort Wrigley, North West Territories; Indian population; Hudson Bay Company steamer McMurray; wreck of S.S. Fox and Yacht Mary; and Captain Bernier at Franklin Centaph, Beechy Island, North West Territories. Also included is a scrap book showing views taken in the Laurentians, La Mauricie, Eastern Townships, Quebec, Bay of Chaleur and the Gaspé Peninsula; rural scenes showing agriculture, fishing and mining activities; photos, drawings and lithographs of Canadian art work done by Clarence A. Gagnon, R. Duguay, Alfred Laliberté, F.S. Coburn, Maurice Raymond and A. Bourgault, 1910-1937; group standing in front of the Centre Block Parliament Buildings, Ottawa, Ontario, 1 May 1913, identified as the Press Gallery Basketball team. Team members include H. Lee, captain, Ottawa Free Press; H.F. Paisley, 1st base, Regina Leader Star; M. Joy, right field, Montreal Star; H.F. Gadsby, umpire; A.B. Hannay, 2nd base, Montreal Herald; Dr. Beland, umpire; W. Graham, left field; H. Anderson, short stop, Toronto Globe; A.F. Ford, pitcher, Winnipeg Telegram; A.F. Clarke, right field, Toronto Globe; G. O'Leary, 3rd base, Ottawa Journal. Fonds also includes photographs of Dominion Prime Ministers with His Majesty King George V at Buckingham Palace during the Imperial Conference, November 1926, London, England. Included are: Baldwin (Britain), Coats (New Zealand), Mackenzie King (Canada), Munroe (Newfoundland), Bruce (Australia), Hertzog (South Africa), Cosgrave (Irish Free State), taken by W.& D. Downey, London, England. Also included is a panoramic view of a group of women, 1936.
Also included in original fonds were brochures of Quebec City and Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, Quebec; Ottawa, Kingston, Thousand Islands, Peterborough, Ont., and Winnipeg, Manitoba. These photographs have been de-accessioned.
In addition, fonds inlcudes silent and sound films depicting sports activites between East coast universities at the University of Western Ontario (1930s); and a short film on Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent entitled St. Laurent: The man and his country (1948). Also included is the film Hollywood of the North (1985), a documentary film produced by the University of Western Ontario.
Fonds also consists of a University of Western Ontario Medal.
Fonds consists of drawings that document 82 various projects by a variety of architects and architectural firms. Most of the drawings pertain to schools and hospitals in Hamilton, London and other locations in southwestern Ontario. Also included are a small number of drawings pertaining to other regions of Ontario and other kinds of buildings, including government offices and small businesses.

University of Western Ontario : The University of Western Ontario was founded in 1878 by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth. Originally named the Western University of London, it was renamed the University of Western Ontario in 1924. In the beginning, Western had arts, medicine and divinity faculties operating from a campus at Wellington and St. James streets. It has since grown to encompass twelve faculties and schools, three affiliated Colleges, and more than fifty different degree and diploma programs. The University is located in London, Ontario.
