Canadian Bridging Company, 1st : No. 1 Canadian Bridging Company was organized in France in August 1918 in response to "an urgent request... for a Canadian Bridging Company in Palestine in view of the special experience of Canadians in this kind of work." The company was commanded by Major A. P. Linton. It left Marseilles on 20 September 1918 and arrived in Egypt 29 September 1918. Its strength was 6 officers and 255 other ranks.
