Note générale :

Collection of proposed Canadian flag designs submitted to the Flag Committee, Secretary of State, in the early 1960's.. The collection includes many different artists: Forrest C. Nickerson (20 plus submissions), Dit Hoerz, W. Howard Ellis, J.C. Prefontaine, J.L. Davidson, Germaine Tremblay, David L. Leigh, R.M. Hume, John Patrick, George Bist, Ken Riopelle, John Matheson, several unknown artists, etc., etc.., The 107 designs were selected from a large collection offered by the Secretary of State.., The designs are not described in the black binder. Some letters in the accession file do describe the meaning and symbolism of some of the designs.., Some of these designs are stored in 0254-A359 (sliding drawer) and the majority in two solander boxes as part of the heraldry collection..
