Accession consists of the records of Dominion Textile Inc. (primarily between 1923 to 1998), as well as additional records from predecessor and subsidiary companies. Records include some executive correspondence, public relations files on most aspects of the company, and legal papers, including land records, patents and trademark files. There are extensive labour relations records, marketing records which contain detailed information on Dominion Textile clients and additional publications.
The accession also includes records pertaining to Dominion Textile-related companies such as Montreal Cottons, Penmans Ltd., Domil, Tre-Mont Worsted Mills, Fireside Fabrics, Lana Knit and Wabasso Inc. This material often includes additional financial, legal and labour records.

Accession consists of the records of Dominion Textile Inc. (primarily between 1923 to 1998), as well as additional records from predecessor and subsidiary companies. Records include some executive correspondence, public relations files on most aspects of the company, and legal papers, including land records, patents and trademark files. There are extensive labour relations records, marketing records which contain detailed information on Dominion Textile clients and additional publications.
The slide library was processed by student intern Bronwyn Quarry during October and November 1999; she removed duplicate and near-duplicate slide materials, added information about the contents of the slide library, and wrote a short introduction to the print form of the finding aid which was supplied by Dominion Textile.
The finding aids supplied by Dominion Textile are essentially one and the same. The electronic form runs under Lotus Notes (one copy of which exists at the National Archives); the printed form is a print-out of the electronic form. The "finding aids" essentially are subject headings which were assigned on a pre-conceived basis by a trained subject indexer; a number of the subject headings therefore contain no photographs. The subject headings do not give a good idea of the image contents as they do not answer such questions as Who, Where, When.
Accession consists of approximately 500 architectural drawings related to Dominion Textile, Montreal Cottons, Penmans and other related company mills at Beauharnois, Valleyfield, Saint-Timothée, Saint-Lambert, Drummondville, Granby, Saint-Jean, Saint-Georges, Saint-Hyacinthe, Sherbrooke, Hawksbury, Long Sault, Renfrew, Paris (Brantford), Yarmouth and Monroe, Louisiana.
Accession consists of 33 artworks including: oil portrait of David Yuile, ca. 1909-1950 ; and 10 drawings (9 caricature), 4 art collage, 12 reproductions : 3 photo-mechanical prints and 9 offset lithographic posters, 6 mixed-media collage. [legacy art accession nos. 1998-59-1 to -24 were initially assigned to some works in the second art registration].

Graphic (photo): The majority of the colour slides are organized in a computer-based classification system (which, unfortunately, provides virtually no information about the actual image contents); the majority of the negatives, prints, and some slides are found in a vertical file system which was organized according to various subject headings.

Graphic (photo): In general the photographs are in good condition: slides are generally not colour-shifted; prints and negatives appear generally to be in good physical and chemical condition.
