Fonds consists of personal material including correspondence, notes, speeches, advertising calendar and card, certificates of merit, mailing list, price lists and one clipping, n.d., 1955-1981, 5 cm; subject files including material on the Professional Photographers of Canada Inc. and the Professional Photographers of Ontario Inc., n.d., 1959-1982, 12 cm; printed material including "Pho-Topics", "The New York State Photographer" and "Canadian Photography", 1956-1976, 3 cm.
The fonds also contains award winning prints exhibited at O.S.P. and P.P.O. conventions: subjects include portraits of adults, children and babies, wedding and commercial; Portrait of Col. Sam McLaughlin, activities of the personnel of General Motors, Oshawa, Ont. Canada's 500,000 military vehicle and GMC truck; Charles Doyle; George Ireland; Adloph Fassbender and group of professional photographers, including Frank Wright; class photographs and early photographers with camera on tripods, 1930-1979.
Also included is a sound recording of an audio presentation entitled The Imagination of a portrait photographer by Clive Ferguson, 1961.

Ireland, George : George Ireland was the proprietor of Ireland Studio in Oshawa, Ont. He was an active member of the Ontario Society of Photographers and its successor the Professional Photographers of Ontario, and the Professional Photographers of Canada. In 1977 he was elected to the National Council of the Professional Photographers of America, Inc. for a period of three years. In 1981 he was Chairman of the Trade Show at the Professional Photographers of Canada's 12th National Convention.
