Series consists of photographic and textual material relating to the design, production and publication of Roloff Beny's sixteen folio volumes; An Aegean Notebook (1950); The Thrones of Earth and Heaven (1958); A Time of Gods (1962); Pleasure of Ruins (1964); To Every Thing There is a Season (1967); Japan in Colour (1967); India (1969); Island: Ceylon (1971); In Italy (1974); Persia: Bridge of Turquoise (1975); Iran: Elements of Destiny (1978); The Churches of Rome (1980); Odyssey: Mirror of the Mediterranean (1981); The Gods of Greece (1983); The Romance of Architecture (1984); Rajasthan (1984); Iceland (1985).

The textual material is organised in the following sub-series and arranged under the the title of the book to which they relate; notes; trip notes; expenses; correspondence (including correspondence with publishers and authors relating to texts); letters of introduction; official communications (including correspondence with the Shahbanou of Iran and with the governments of Iran, Japan, India, Ceylon, Paksitan); publishers contracts; publication proposals; book design; design ideas; dummies; galleys; texts; acknowledgements; forewords; proofs; jackets; layouts; plate notes; specifications; mock ups; publicity; promotional material; guest lists and parties; reviews and comments; clippings and articles; research material.
