This accession contains a mix of lands-related textual records and maps for various Canadian National Railways System subsidiary rail lines. The Grand Trunk Railway Land Office/Land Department files include 1891 system-wide lists of houses (together with tenants' names) situated on Company property, cottages leased in both the Eastern and Western parts of the Railway and three registers containing alpha lists for rental contracts (1900-1918) issued by the GTR. Also included is a copy of the original GTR-The Montreal and Southern Counties Railway Company agreement regarding the operation of electrically-driven cars on the Victoria Jubilee Bridge. The Canadian Northern Railway Lands Department records contain copies of annual audits of accounts (1907-09) for The Saskatchewan Valley and Manitoba Land Company, Limited and the National Trust Company. The CNR capital stock documents record the transfer/assignment of shares to various individuals for such companies as The Winnipeg Great Northern Railway Company, The Lake Manitoba Railway and Canal Company and The Manitoba and South-Eastern Railway and includes lists of CNR shareholders (1990, 1918). Also included are three resignation letters for Directors of the CNR, dated October, 1918, and an original stock subscription book for The Edmonton and Slave Lake Railway Company dated 1903. Records for the Great Western Railway Land Department include a register of leases for properties let; the alpha list includes lessee name, station (i.e. community), date of leaste, GWR lease number and period covered (ca. 1860-1882). A further sub-component includes a collection of miscellaneous Canadian and United States railway passes and tickets, previously held by Mr. fred C.
