The journal includes descriptions of trade relationships between traders and Indigenous women, life conditions of local Indigenous people (including Lake Babine Nation), and episodes of disease and starvation. A pencil sketch of a man wearing a top hat was drawn on the last page of the journal. The file also contains a letter from the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) to Robert W. Redford dated October 18th, 1934.
