Interview of Irv Weissman, an American veteran of the Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion which saw service in the Spanish Civil War, and Larry Ryan of Toronto, who served in Number Two Company. They speak about correspondent Cecil Smith, the creation of the Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion, sections composed of particular ethnic groups such as Finns and Ukrainians, members of the Battalion from Vancouver, the sense of internationalism which allowed for the acceptance of Americans in the Battalion, Ron Liversedge, A.A. McLeod, the Friends of the Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion, the training of the Battalion, the relationship between the Battalion and the Lincoln Battalion, and the battle of Quinto.
