ca. 1162 photographs : slides, col.Langue du document :anglaisPortée et contenu :Series consists of photographic documentation of many aspects of the mining and processing of uranium both in the north at Port Radium and Beaver Lodge as well as in the south at Eldorado's refinery at Port Hope, Ont.
The majority of the series consists of albums and photographs that document: the development of radium and uranium operations of the company in Port Hope, Ont. and Radium City, N.W.T; the company townsites in the north, showing the social life of these communities; the impact of Eldorado's plant on Port Hope, Ont.; the various uranium mines and mills in northern Ontario; Eldorado's numerous barges and tugs as well as river boats and the company aircraft; numerous officials involved with the company such as Gilbert LaBine, J.P. (Pat) Ryan, Steve Alkinson; various Eldorado display booths; and more. Two albums are described in file-level records linked to this series; the bulk of the photographic collection remains at the accession level (1990-379 DAP).
Series also consists of slides depicting core samples, as well as a view of mining shaft from the uranium mine at Beaverlodge, Sask. Most core samples depicted were taken from the Beaverlake mine area (e.g., Donaldson Lake, Verna, Project 300, Westy holes, Eagle area, HAB), and a dozen are from the 23rd level of the "Fay" project.
