8 photographsLangue du document :anglaisPortée et contenu :The fonds consists of records illustrating the musical career of Arthur Blight: correspondence; concert programmes and promotional material; press clippings and scrapbook of same; photographs of Arthur Blight and members of his family.Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Blight, Arthur, 1874-1928 : Born in Keokuk, Iowa, Arthur Blight moved to Canada and studied music in Toronto. In 1900 he was appointed director of vocal studies at the Toronto Junction College of Music. He left his position four years later and went to England to continue his education. From his return to Toronto in 1905 until 1928 he held a number of positions, including church soloist, baritone in the Blight Male Quartette, music director of the Ontario Ladies' College, professor at the Toronto Conservatory of Music, and musical director at Toronto radio station CKNC.Source :PrivéAncien no de référence archivistique :MUS 31 -
