Willison during his career as a journalist and an author. The fonds also contains documents accumulated by A.H.U. Colquhoun in connection with his biography of Willison.Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Willison, John, Sir, 1856-1927 : Born in Huron County, Canada West, J.S. Willison worked for the London "Advertiser", 1881-1883, before joining the Toronto "Globe", which he edited from 1890 until 1902, when he became editor of the Toronto "News". From 1910 until his death, he was Canadian correspondent for "The Times" and in 1925 he founded "Willison's Monthly". He was knighted in 1913. Throughout his life, Willison gave numerous lectures and addresses on political subjects, some of which were published in pamphlet form. Important among his publications is the biography, "Sir Wilfrid Laurier and the Liberal Party: A Political History".Information additionnelle :Note générale :This fonds is a legacy fonds.
