There are several breaks in the diaries, notably during the Riel uprising, 1869-1870. A list of diaries is included in the volume.Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Cowan, William : Dr. William Cowan was surgeon to the enrolled army pensioners at Fort Garry, in the service of the Hudson's Bay Company.
