The prints in this album document Canadian army activities in Sicily from September 3, 1943 - October 10, 1943. Subjects photographed include amphibious beach landings and the unloading of Allied ships as well as the Allied fleet in the Mediterranean. Activities around Gambarie, Potenza, and Gambatesa are shown in the album. Photos also document various Allied armour, transport, aircraft, anti-aircraft, demining operations, artillery spotters and bombardments, various radio and signals equipment, and donkeys transporting equipment. Also included are Allied wounded, portraits of CBC correspondents, soldiers interacting with civilians, battle casualties, war graves, soldiers attending religious services, and war dead.
