Textual records (Papier) Given the relationship between minutes and the orders-in-council, the indexes found within the state and land minute books can also be used to trace orders-in-council. The index leads to the minute, the date of which is the key to identifying, by means of the Shelf List for the Orders-in-Council of the Executive Council series, the volume in which the order should be found and the microfilm reel on which it will appear. Textual records (Papier) The indexed registers which constitute vols. 72-93 of the State Submissions to the Executive Council series (found elsewhere within this fonds), serve as a finding aid to the records in the present series also. Those registers and indexes serve the inter-related series of State Minutes of the Executive Council, "Put By" Submissions to the Executive Council, State Submissions to the Executive Council and, to a certain extent, the Land Submissions to the Executive Council, as well as the present series. Textual records (Papier) The CAB RG 1 Shelf List (see RG 1, E8 section) is a typed volume-level description which provides volume number, inclusive dates and corresponding microfilm reel number. The Shelf List also provides instructions on how to use the indexes and registers (found in the State Submissions to the Executive Council series, vols. 72-93) to locate orders-in-council.
