Fonds consists of correspondence and other papers collected by Dr. Kateryna Antonovych, chiefly after her emigration to Canada, documenting activities of the Ukrainian community in Canada and abroad, as well as her activities as an artist and art teacher and her interest in children's literature, 1902-1975.

Fonds also contains works of art by Kateryna Antonovych consisting of: oil paintings, watercolours, prints and sketches of Canadian landscapes; book designs, illustrations and costume designs; posters; postcards; cards; portraits of noteable Ukrainian artists, writers, poets, professors, and family and friends of the artist.

Also included are photographs on Antonovych and her family and friends as well as photographs relating to her career from the years 1958 and 1972.

Included in horizontal storage: poster "Enrico Farina e la sua orchestra", 1973, container 11.

Antonovych, Kateryna, 1887-1975 : Kateryna Antonovych was born in 1884 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. She studied in St. Petersburg, Kiev and Prague. Her marriage to Professor Dmytro Antonovych, a specialist in the history of art, yielded three children: Marina, Marc and Michael. Antonovych studied art and edited a children's journal entitled "Nashym Ditiam" in Prague. She emigrated to Canada in 1949, where she joined her daughter and her family in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Antonovych opened an art school in 1954 and exhibited her work across North America. She also contributed to the Ukrainian press and was an active member of several Ukrainian academic, community and womens' organizations. Antonovych died in 1975.
