Television commercials and public service messages by federal and provincial government departments. Includes commercials by: Canada Centennial Commission; Ontario Department of Highways; Department of National Revenue (Canada Savings Bonds); and Alberta's Department of Social Development. Commercials were entries in the English National Commercial Category at Canadian Television Commercials Festivals (the Bessies) between 1966 and 1972. The commercials are: Gresham Tweed, about the Department of National Revenue 70/T1T-Short income tax form; three 30-second commercials for the Post Office Mail Early Campaign, called Postman, Correct Address and Christmas Blush and one 60-second commercial called Cards - Bundling; three black-and-white commercials for the Ontario Medical Services Insurance Plan (OMSIP), called Countergirl, Man -- New Address and Housewife; Foster Parents, for the Alberta Department of Social Development; Children Dressing, advertising Canada Standard Sizes, for the Department of Consumer and Corporate Affairs; Kitten -- Security, about Canada Savings Bonds, for the Department of National Revenue; We're Here to Help, about the income tax guide, for the Department of National Revenue; Runner, about the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg; 100 Exciting Years, for the Centennial Commission; an animated commercial called Litter Bug for the Ontario Department of Highways; black-and-white commercial for the Shop Canada campaign and education for the Province of Ontario Trade Crusade; another animated anti-pollution commercial for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment; animated commercial about pollution, for the Ontario government; animated commercial about pollution, for the Ontario Department of Energy and Resources Management; and an animated commercial called Litter Trap, for the Ontario Department of Highways. The reel also contains an unrelated commercial for Cascade water heaters, showing a bunch of little boys in a bathtub. <17mn 30s>
