An anonymous respondent, a clerical employee in the federal government by Janice Manchee of the Public Service Alliance of Canada about the impact of new technologies on his/her working conditions. This document is one in a series of interviews undertaken as a one-year research project by the Technological Change Coordinator's Office of the Public Service Alliance of Canada. Its purpose is to examine whether successful adaptation of the clerical workers in the federal government to new technologies is associated with such organizational characteristics as the labour-management consultation process and the growing organization. Topics discussed with the interviewee include: personal data; work history; description of a typical work cycle; descriptions of differences between the old job and the new job in the context of technological change in the workplace; shift work; other comments on technological change made by the employee. <15mn>
