This series pertains to the research, reports and correspondence of the Associate Committee on Bird Hazards to Aircraft and Malcolm Sheraton Kuhring's work with civil and military aircraft and airports. The serie includes numerous documents showing Kuhring's efforts and responsibilities as Chairman of the Associate Committee.

The series consists of field notes and research that detail the various ways Kuhring and his team attempted to deter birds from nesting near various airports in Canada and damaging aircraft. Material includes reports on bird migration, bird strikes records by various airports, bird movement data, and reports by the Canadian Wildlife Service. The serie also includes the work undertaken by the Associate Committee and the Canadian Air Force to predict bird hazards to military aircraft.

The series also consist of the joint effort by the Associate Committee and other bird hazard committees to create an international co-operation among countries seeking to prevent bird strikes. Documents include correspondence between numerous European countries and the Associate Committee about the bird problem. Cooperation includes sharing progress, informing each other of bird migration movement, convening for International Bird Strike Committee meetings and notes from the European Bird Strike Committee and the Radar Working Group of the Bird Strike Committee Europe.

Lastly, the series consist of numerous documents concerning the construction of the new Montreal International Airport, Operation Bird Track, and documents relating to the involvement of NATO and the Royal Air Force in the bird hazard programs.
