Recherche dans la collection - Maps, plans and surveys of the Atlantic provinces - National Map Collection [multiple media]

This accession contains original copies of plans and surveys from various government and private sources that were in the custody of the National Map Collection, National Archives of Canada and microfilmed in 1987. Most drawings were created by the Department of National Defence Naval Services and Air Directorate, but others include drawings from Department of Transport, Public Works of Canada, and some municipal and private maps. Several records by Department of National Defence were created during the Second World War period.

Drawings include plans and surveys of proposed sites for various structures and works for military and transportation uses including dry docks, naval bases, air strips, and radio towers. Areas depicted are in Newfoundland and the Atlantic provinces.

These items were held in the custody of the National Map Collection, National Archives of Canada. The exact provenance and date of reception is unknown.
