Accession consists of grant committee records created and maintained by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

This accession contains records pertaining to operations of grants committees (block 1030) and cover subjects that include, but are not limited: behavioural sciences; cancer; immunology and transplantation; biochemistry and molecular biology; virology and viral pathogenesis; gender sex and health; children's health; and discoveries and inventions.

Each of the grant and award committees of the Medical Research Council (MRC) and CIHR represented a different research specialty, and was charged with considering applications for funding, assessing them using peer review evaluations, and dividing available funding among approved grantees.
