Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Prince George District Office of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and its predecessors. Predecessors include the Burns Lake and Stuart Lake Agencies. Some case files relate to other agencies and district offices, including: the Northern Interior Education District; the Babine, Cowichan, Williams Lake, Terrace, and Lytton Agencies; and the British Columbia Commissioner's Office.

The accession includes, but is not limited to records relating to: Organization and administration, including school establishment; administration, including administration owned buildings, and accommodation in federal buildings; school buildings, including staff residence, and farm buildings - schools; welfare equipment and supplies; arts & crafts; finance, including claims against the crown; law enforcement, including divorce, separation & annulment; natural resources, including traplines, timber, and gravel & sand; placement of labour, including employment on special projects, and winter works; reports & returns, including employment & relocation reports; social activities, including homemakers clubs, and social leaders - activities; education, including educational assistance, and adult education; trust funds, including winter works incentive program; welfare, including aged allowances, family allowance, miscellaneous assistance, care of the handicapped, welfare & education assistance to non-indigenous living on reserve, work opportunity program, and care of children; surveys & reserves; miscellaneous - land matters, including school land; individual case files, including guardianship, miscellaneous, the mentally incompetent, and estates; property damage & protection, including fire protection.
