The first work of the concert features guest performer Barry Tuckwell on French horn. He plays Horn Concerto No. 2, composed in 1942 by Richard Strauss. Next, organist Hugh McLean, presently Dean of the Faculty of Music of the University of Western Ontario. He plays the National Arts Centre's Flentrop Concert Organ in a performance of the Concerto for Organ composed by Malcolm Arnold in 1954.
