Information on both rectos and versos of maps includes tourist information, distance charts, indexes, insets of local tour maps and location maps, colour illustrations of highway signs, colour scenic photographs and descriptive notes etc.

Maps published and/or distributed by Prince Edward Island Tourism and other official agencies and Departments including the Prince Edward Island Travel Bureau, the Prince Edward Island Tourist Information Centre, P.E.I. Dept. of Tourism and Parks, P.E.I. Dept. of Tourism, Parks and Conservation, P.E.I. Dept. of Tourism, Industry and Energy, P.E.I. Dept. of Finance and Tourism and the Prince Edward Island Tourism Marketing Council, as well as private sector companies Rolph-McNally Limited of Toronto, Nimbus Publishing (Halifax, N.S.) and LRIS (Amherst, N.S.).

Maps dated from 1969 to 1993 are in both English and French.

Scales differ.

Scales on maps are chiefly bar scales and range from 1:250 000 to [1:362 057].

Versos of maps have been microfilmed as well; NMC numbers are indicated on sheets.
