Series consists of sound and moving image recordings of musical performances by Neil Chotem and others. Most recordings involve Chotem in one or more capacities (e.g., pianist, conductor/leader, composer, arranger, musical director). Included are extensive recordings of his appearances on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation / Société Radio-Canada radio and television programmes. Among the other recordings in the series are: Chotem performances during his military service in the Second World War; live concerts involving Chotem as a composer, arranger, conductor, or pianist; incidental music that he composed for documentaries and dramas on film, radio, and television; music that he composed for theatre and dance productions; broadcast documentaries and dramas that incorporate incidental music by Chotem; commercial music recording projects, such as albums, involving Chotem as a composer, arranger, conductor, or pianist; compilations of Chotem performances, arrangements, and compositions; a televised documentary about Chotem that includes musical performances; theme music by Chotem for broadcast sports programmes; jingles for commercial advertising; musical humour; informal and practice recordings, some of an experimental and improvised nature; and recordings of other composers and performers (e.g., Dolores Claman, Serge Garant, Glenn Gould, Pierre Mercure) that he accumulated. Also included in the series are accompanying textual records, such as take sheets, track lists, correspondence, score, press clipping, and notes.

An undated audio compact disc recording of Neil Chotem's composition Rhapsodie québécoise "Lespérance", as performed by the Orchestre symphonique de la Montérégie under the direction of Marc David, was determined to be corrupt and unplayable, and was therefore removed from the fonds.
