Series consists of contour maps for radio and television station transmitters where MacKinnon designed or installed these devices. The series includes contour maps for the majority of Canadian stations coast to coast either actual or proposed. There are also original drawings and schematic diagrams of antennae and other devices of MacKinnon's own design. In addition to the Canadian material, there are also broadcast proposals for other Commnwealth and Caribbean countries. Also included in the series is a globe.

Manuscript additions on globe show radio broadcasting call letters.

Note sur l'état de conservation :

Maps generally consist of cropped published maps (topographical, road, city), with information added by hand and with small legends or other information pasted to the maps. The glue is deteriorating and any pasted additions are likely to become loose if manipulated carelessly.

Historique de la conservation :

The collection was received from Mrs. Esther Bird, Mr. MacKinnon's daughter, on June 7, 1993.

Accompanying the globe is a great circle plane dated Dec. 1938. These maps and drawings accompany extenive textual documentation which was transferred to the Manuscipt Division. Photographs of some of the completed installations were transferred to Documentary Art and Photography Division.
