This is a video newsletter for employees of CP Rail. This edition features reports on: the April 9 purchase by CP Rail of the American railroad The Soo Line, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary, and the use by CP and the Soo Line of the Rail Runner technology to cut freight transit times from Montreal to Chicago, improving CP's competitiveness; safety seminars for accident prevention coordinators; the start of construction of the new Vaughan terminal north of Toronto; a St. John's Ambulance first aid competition; more on health and safety training; the Canadian Pacific corporate donations program and its $100,000 donation to a new cancer research centre at Calgary Foothills Hospital; a new rail car used by the Vancouver Division to bring safety information to workers in the field, making it easier for crews to attend meetings; and a feature on the use of motion pictures by the Canadian Pacific Railway as a means to promote rail travel and tourism as early as the turn of the century. The narration mentions the titles AN UNSELFISH LOVE, THE SONG THAT REACHED HIS HEART and THE LITTLE STATION AGENT, and the CPR-owned company Associated Screen News.
